Rich Laws was the Longest Johns' drummer from 2021 to 2024, playing live with them on tour and in the studio for both Smoke + Oakum and Voyage.
Rich attended music college for Jazz Studies and has worked as a professional drummer since 2005, performing with such artists as Carleen Anderson, Lizzie Deane, Pee Wee Ellis, and Gary Aylesbrook.
Outside of his work with the band, Rich is co-director of Richer Music, an agency that provides live entertainment for weddings, parties, corporate events, etc. Before taking The Longest Johns full time, both Andy and JD played in some of the function bands managed by the agency, particularly The Southern Sons, which is how they met him.
As of July 2024, Rich has had to step away from his work with the band due to other commitments; TLJ's drumming duties have since been taken over by Florin Werner.
